Cultural Competence

Heartland AEA provides services that address growing diversity in schools and communities. Within the Agency, Heartland AEA strives to create an environment in which the diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives of all employees are used to better serve area districts.

Services to districts and schools include the planning and implementation of a research-based framework to guide differentiated lesson planning and delivery and assessment that meet the specific needs of English language learners (ELLs) and other diverse learners. Professional Learning Activities

Heartland AEA consultants also design and facilitate professional learning activities and simulations that nurture an appreciation for global awareness and harmony. Topics of such activities include:
