How to Apply

Internet Access Required

Applications are accepted through our online application system. Applications must be filled out in their entirety and include all necessary documents in order to be considered.

If you do not have personal Internet access, most public libraries and Iowa Workforce Development Centers have computers available for use by the general public. Preferred web browsers are Firefox for Macs and Internet Explorer for PCs. There is also a computer reserved for job applicants at our Administration Center in Johnston.

Since email is our agency’s main form of communication, it will be necessary for you to have an email address. If you do not have an email address, we suggest signing up for a free account through an email client such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail. All applicant notifications will be sent to the email address that you provide on your applicant profile.

Required Documents

The online application system accepts attachments in the following formats: doc, docx, txt, rtf, jpg, png, tif, bmp and pdf. Note: Position-specific information is found under each position description once you begin the job search and application process. The only documents that will be accepted via mail or email, after completion of the online application, are letters of recommendation and official transcripts because they are often provided by a third party.

If you are mailing transcripts and/or letters of recommendation to accompany your online application, send them to:
