Numeracy Project

What is the Numeracy Project?

The Numeracy Project is a free numeracy development resource that introduces teachers and teacher leaders to the trajectory by which learners acquire a solid foundation in numeracy. This package contains assessments (universal screeners, a diagnostic tool, progress monitoring) and intervention activities.

Numeracy Project Training

As a result of the Numeracy Project training, participants will:

  • Understand the concept of numeracy and use student thinking to examine the development across stages of the Number Framework
  • Learn how to use various assessments in the Numeracy Project to determine learning needs
  • Use data to design instruction and monitor progress within the Numeracy Project

How I’ve made an impact: For several years, I worked with the principal and instructional coach to help facilitate grade-level PLC groups in math at an elementary school. We would meet every three weeks to analyze data, discuss instructional strategies, use that data to inform future instruction and create formative assessments to review at the next meeting. Gradually, we began to see improvement in district and screening assessments. The discussion that the teachers had was phenomenal.
