Ebooks & Audiobooks

Ebooks are available at any time—no checkouts and no wait-lists. Every student in a class can read the same ebook at the same time. The ebooks work on any desktop computer, laptop or mobile device. Students can access the ebooks at school, home, the public library or any place with an Internet connection. Heartland AEA provides three ebook online databases for students, BookFLIX, TrueFLIX and MackinVIA. Login with the username and password assigned to your school.

Use ebooks to:

  • Introduce new topics
  • Build background knowledge
  • Expand upon lessons
  • Teach vocabulary
  • Review essential skills and information
  • Practice research skills to find relevant information

Now listen while you read!
K-8th grade students can listen to over 3,000 audiobooks of favorites, classics, nonfiction and more through our MackinVIA subscription. Log in, click "Databases" and look for the Tales2Go collection. Tales2Go is an award-winning product that streams thousands of titles from leading publishers and storytellers to desktop/laptop computers. All have professional narration.
