Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS)
Coordinated early intervening services (CEIS) are additional services for general education students who have not been identified as needing special education services. The hope is that with additional academic and behavioral support from an adult or team, a student will overcome his/her learning barrier and will not need to be identified as needing special education services. Although CEIS is offered to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, there is a particular emphasis on students in kindergarten-3rd grade so that learning barriers can be addressed early on in a students academic career. These interventions are supported with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B funds.
