Library Materials

The Heartland AEA library contains many science resource materials that educators may access or check out free of charge. The Heartland AEA library is housed in the Johnston Regional Education Center at 6500 Corporate Drive, Johnston. Educators may stop by and check out items, or they can reserve materials through the online library catalog.

Materials that are available to area educators include:

  • Books, journals and magazines for educator professional development
  • Age-appropriate books for students
  • Audio books and play-along books for teachers and students
  • DVDs, VHS and streamed videos online to use in the classroom

When you search our online library catalog, be sure to search by the following keywords:

  • Astronomy
  • Chemistry
  • Constellation
  • Earth
  • Life
  • Physical Science
  • Physics

Also check out the Online Resources page which has several online databases that can be used as an extension of the classroom.  All databases require a username and password assigned to your school which can be obtained from your school teacher librarian.
